Flag Day is June 14th

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

Kathy Miller, our 1812 President found the website below when she was searching for an 1812 Patriot for a supplement.  If anyone is looking for a NC Patriot visit the website below:

75th ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY LANDING AND THE BATTLE OF NORMANDY

Veterans returned to Normandy to salute the fallen. This year only a few dozen American D-Day veterans ( as they are all in their mid nineties or older ) returned to Normandy to honor the American troops who died in Europe during World War II. If you purchase a newspaper or google D-Day you will find lots of information.

Below are several websites to go to get additional information about what happened and what is D-Day.

Dale Spencer,  Committee Chair Veteran Outreach Program recently dropped off food donations to the VA Clinic located at the entrance of Wilmington Airport. Dale  and Tyra Hoffman, who is in charge of volunteers had a bit of fun with Fiona, the therapy dog. Tyra was very appreciative of everything that was donated by our 1812 chapter. Dale collected $65.00 from the chapter members.
