1812 Meeting Scheduled for June 7th

Lisa English

The 1812 meeting is scheduled for June 7, 2014 at the New Hope Presbyterian Church 800 Cherrytree Road, NE in  Winnabow, NC which is south on Route 17.  The meeting will start at 10:00. Lisa English, a member of the Rockfish DAR Chapter will be our guest speaker. She will demonstrate and the members will make tiny pocket flags that will fit in a small plastic envelope. Lisa was a guest speaker at our October meeting and we were so impressed with her ability and background with our servicemen that we asked if she would be able to return for our June meeting.  If you have any questions contact Bonnie Becmer at bbecmer@seatrail.net .

The Star Spangled Spectacular Event September 6-16th

O Say Can You See! Star-Spangled Spectacular is a free festival that celebrates the 200th anniversary of our national anthem. Tall ships, Navy gray hulls and the Blue Angels will come to Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor to celebrate The Star-Spangled Banner. Landside festivals include re-enactments, a family fun-zone, live musical performances, and Chesapeake food and beverage. Events crescendo on September 13 with a star-studded patriotic concert and extraordinary fireworks display over Fort McHenry and the Baltimore harbor.
