January 8, 2018 is the 4th annual anniversary of Andrew Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans that Commissioner Charles Gause Chapter daughters have gathered on the Garrison Lawn in Southport at the 1812 marker to lay flowers, name our soldiers/sailors/patriots, toll a bell and commemorate the Battle of New Orleans and the War of 1812.
After the ceremony the participants adjourned to Fishy Fishy Restaurant in Southport to continue celebrating the occasion.
