2019-2020 Meeting Schedule

October 5, 2019 -  is at Southport Gourmet and Sushi.  Doors open at 9:45, meeting starts at 10.  Gwen Causey will speak on her trip to the National Society’s Wreath Laying and Remembrance programs at Bermuda this past year.

January 7th Battle of New Orleans Commerative event and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the 1812 Marker on the lawn at Ft. Johnston, Southport, 11:00 am.  (A day early due to NSDAR conflict)

Feb 1, 2020, will be held at the new Indian Trail Meeting Room in Downtown Southport next door to the Harper Library.  The address is 113 W Moore Street.  Doors open at 9:30, the meeting begins at 10.  Program TBA.

May 22, 2020, International Merchant Marine Day and Wreath-laying Ceremony at the Merchant Marine Monument, Veterans Park, Downtown Wilmington at 11:00 am. (Next to the Coast Guard Station)

June 6, 2020, will be held at the Pilot House Restaurant on the waterfront in Historic Downtown Wilmington.  Doors open at 11, the meeting will begin soon after.  We will be in the room to the far right of the entrance, the north end of the building.  The program will be Musings of Dolley Madison, presented by Jane Thomas, President of the Cherokee Chapter USD 1812 in Greensboro.

October 6, 2018 - Program: Fort Niagara - meeting held at Southport, Sushi and Gourmet in Southport - 10:00 - lunch

January 8, 2019 Battle of New Orleans, Commemorative at The 1812 Marker on the lawn of Ft. Johnson.

December 14. 2018.   Wreaths Across America, Wilmington National Cemetery

February 2, 2019  Chapter meeting

May 22, 2019, National Maritime Day,  Wilmington, NC, and Chapter meeting


.  2017-2018 scheduled meetings

October 7, 2017.    We will be meeting in Wilmington at the home of member Martha Blacher at 11:00. Directions will be e-mail. The guest speaker is Dick Powell. The title of his program is "Washington City Afire." There is a $12.00 charge for lunch, which will be s erved after the meeting. 

February 3, 2018.  Chris Grimes from Roper, NC and Chapter President SAR, historical reenactor. Meeting will start at 10:00 a.m.
 will do a program on Medical/Medicine /Garrison Surgeon during War of 1812.  St. James Community Building.  Lunch after meeting at the San Felipe Mexican Restaurant in Southport, NC.

June 2, 2018. Leisa Greathouse, Education Director Cape Fear Historical Complex, Fayetteville will present a program on "The Star Spangled Banner and Mary Pickersgill". The Commission Charles Gause 1812 meeting was held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar on Howe Street in Southport, NC. The new officers for the 2018-2020 term of officer were sworn in by Nora Hickam

June 4, 2016 Linda Rivenbark's home  - installation of officers


October 17, 2016: Wilmington -  USD Daughters of 1812 and Colonial Dames members had a group meeting. They took a beautiful tour of the Cape Fear River. Then had their meeting/luncheon at Elija's Restaurant, 2 Ann Street in Wilmington, NC.

January 8, 2017  1812 Monument in Southort, NC

February 11, 2017 Guest speaker is Jim Greathouse, senior museum specialist in Fayetteville, NC Meeting will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport, NC across from the post office. at 10:00am.

June 3, 2017 a 10:30.  Guest speaker is Andre Duppstadt, who will give a brief timeline for the War of 1812 and information about Dolly Madison and Nathaniel Forsythe. The meeting will be held at the St. James Community Center on Rt. 211 in Southport, NC

January 8, 2016 -1812 Monument, Southport NC

February 6- 11:00am at the home of chapter member May2 in Winnabow, NC.  After our meeting, we will go to Brunswick Town where Jim McKee will tell us more about the War of 1812 in North Carolina and new findings at the site.
