COMMISSIONER CHARLES GAUSE CHAPTER USD 1812 held their June 3, 2023 meeting at the Indian Trail Meeting Room in Southport, NC. Dr. Liz Fuller, President of the Southport Historial Society gave a most informative PowerPoint presentation "The Remarkable Life and Haunting Disappearance of Theodosia Burr." Theodosia Burr was born in 1783 and disappeared in January 1812 on board the schooner "Patriot". She was the first fully educated woman in America.
