May you have a blessed, safe Memorial weekend. It is a special time in which all of us have
been touched by our ancestors.
This 18 June 2012 is the beginning of the bi-centennial of the war, inaugurating a 32- month of activities remembering the conflict with Britain that claimed almost as many lives as the Revolutionary War, cemented our young nation’s independence, gave us “The Star-Spangled Banner”, and opened up a whole new way of life for Americans. During these few days of cookouts, beaches, families and friends, may we remember our ancestors who made it all possible.
