Saturday, August 3, 2013 The 1812 State Council Meeting & Luncheon was held at the Woman's Club in High Point, NC. The Cherokees 1812 Chapter hosted the event. A big thank you goes to President Jane Thomas and her committee of helpers for this wonderful afternoon.

Ruth Verbunt, an 1812 re-enactor and also prospective 1812 member, gave
her program, “The Exciting Life of a War of 1812 Re-enactor.” She was entertaining and appropriately
dressed for the year 1812. Verbunt talked about Jane Austen’s "Pride &
Prejudice."
