Did you know that in August USPS will issue
the first in a new series of stamps commemorating the War of 1812? The first
stamp in the series features the oldest known painting of the most famous ship
of the war, USS Constitution.

1812 Bi-Centennial/Annual NC State Meeting on September 8th
The Commissioner Charles Gause Chapter of 1812 is hosting the 1812 Bi-Centennial/Annual NC State Meeting on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Sea Trail Plantation Conference Center, Room 3 on Clubhouse Road in Sunset Beach, NC. There will be time to socialize at 9:30 a.m., then the meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. After a lovely lunch, special guest speakers Dir. Keith Hardison, State Historical sites and Major Mark Patton, JROTC, Fayetteville, NC will present their programs. For special discount rental rates call Nora Hickam at 910-575-99876. Please reply by August 24th, 2012. The total cost for registration and meals is $35.00.
